The
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) technique uses pelvic blocking
in combination of both low -force and the HVLA style
of adjusting.
It is a full, systematic approach that looks at the whole
body. The analysis used with SOT includes the spine, the muscles,
the cranium (skull), and the organs to balance the whole body.
A structural example of this is direct relationship between
the innominate (hip) bone and the temporal bone. This is why
some people with low back pain may also have a TMJ problem
and visa versa.
SOT also looks at the
chronic pains that someone may be having as a possible functional
organ problem. An example of this visceral somatic (organ muscle)
relationship is low back pain associated with menstrual cycles.
When a woman is properly aligned and the organs are properly
supported, then she will not get the annoying PMS symptoms
associated with her cycle. SOT doctors are trained to look at all these
different relationships.
